Motivation is a lot like making the bed. You need to do it everyday. When I think a bit about entrepreneurship I think about how we are the people who have to dare the things that haven’t been done before, and to question the status quo.
For years – people rode animals before someone considered a wheel; people believed if we wanted to fly god would have given us wings; and that landing on the moon was impossibility (wasn’t it just a week ago that NASA announced the discovery of over 1,200 new planets!).
But my question is why? Over 8 years ago I started the first coworking space in the state, and spent the following 3 years trying to educate most of the key influencers in the state what the purpose of a coworking space even was. And over the past year I am proud to announce that NJ has multiple locations, in multiple variations, and the market is still continuing to change.
Yet – even with the leaps and bounds we have taken in the last few years we still do not compete with locations throughout the rest of the United States. Why is it that New Jersey is such a tough environment for business. New Jersey is one of the toughest business environments to survive, let alone thrive. I call the people that really learn to make it here drivers of Jersey Grit. Do you have it?
So I want to know – what keeps you motivated to do business in New Jersey?
