The Story Begins

Company Founder, Sevi Adat has worked in the fragrance industry for decades. Originally hailing from the United Kingdom, Sevi worked as a formulation Chemist for a major homecare products manufacturer. Later he joined a German fragrance company as a product manager and then a Swiss fragrance company where he developed fragrances for many successful and iconic brands. Sevi moved to the United States to develop scents for major North American brands for a portion of his career. Then, he latterly moved to a Japanese fragrance company where he managed the North American scent development team. But, after decades in the corporate fragrance world, Sevi set out on his own in 2017.

“My vision was to create happiness through the power of perfume especially through the wedding market,” said Adat. “I set up a company called Heaven Scents which was the precursor for Princeton Perfume Company. I developed a range of perfumes and candles.”

Sevi established the Heaven Scents brand by developing proprietary scents and selling the resulting rollerball perfumes and candles. While selling his products to retail businesses and wedding stores, Sevi realized that his company could offer much more than a single product line.

Branding, Introducing PPC, and the Future…

Sevi Adat enlisted 20 Lemons’ marketing team to help him create a new brand for his company. Putting heads together, the two teams created Princeton Perfume Company. The branding process included creating a new logo, developing a website, creating a marketing & communication plan, and more.

The PPC team spread word of the new brand to the fragrance industry and wedding market at local events and conferences. The team also took to sharing their new website with customers via social media and by sending digital newsletters.

My Heaven Scents became the first fragrance collection of the newly established Princeton Perfume Company (PPC). What’s more, Sevi had plans to grow the company beyond the basic retail model.

“Now, we’ve changed the name of the company where we still do the Heaven Scent as a collection,” explained Adat. “At the same time the other two pillars of the company are also gaining traction. The scent branding pillar is becoming hugely popular with corporate companies and small businesses alike. While the other pillar of the business is all about essential oil education and blending classes and this is giving businesses a unique point of difference in their customer appreciation strategy.”

Most recently, PPC has been producing custom marketing collateral for a small client base. Adat plans to expand this “pillar” of the business.

“We plan to give our customers the opportunity to have their own signature scent for their gifts,” Sevi explained. “This way, customers can recall the business and brand from a multisensory perspective. I can do small run orders as well as large run. Our service offers companies and businesses a chance to enhance their brand image at minimum risk with a high value outcome.”

Furthermore, Sevi has found success using his new brand and professional experience to provide an education and service for new clients. Realtors and financial advisors have brought Sevi in for lectures to teach eventgoers about the benefits of certain essential oils.

“We guide people through making their own blend. The feedback is fantastic—everyone walks away with a smile on their face—really exciting for me,” said Sevi. “I have a bank of 15 essential oils. Using my chemistry degree, I teach people about the properties of each and guide them to create their own blend. It’s exciting because it covers many aspects of my business.”
