Summer’s over, and kids are heading back to school for a fresh, new start. It’s the perfect time of year to refresh on sales-boosting strategies and come up with some new tactics to get your business ahead, especially if summertime was a sluggish season for you.
Here’s a few quick tips to get you rolling.
Host An Event
While all of your customers or clients spend time browsing the web, nothing beats face-to-face networking. Hosting an event allows you to create real, lasting relationships with new business partners, generate new leads, and remind old customers or clients that you still exist.
Create an event that will be beneficial to your ideal customer. You can create a simple, free-of-charge meet-up to attract fresh new faces, or charge an attendance fee to generate a new stream of income. Having event sponsors in adjacent industries can offset costs and help you form new partnerships.
We work with Open Door Publications℠, a publishing company that helps authors write, publish and promote their books, by promoting writers’ events throughout the year. Currently, we’re working with them to promote Winter Writers’ Weekend, which will take place March 2-4 2018 at Nassau Inn in Princeton, NJ. There will be workshops to help first-time and published authors write, publish and promote their books. Some authors may decide to work with Open Door Publications after attending the event.
Blog All About It
Publishing regular blog posts on your company’s website increases your visibility in Google Search because search engines love to show users fresh, new content. You can optimize your content to attract users who are in immediate need of your product or service, or raise awareness so you’ll be at top of mind when they are ready to become a customer or client.
Results are directly related to strategy. It makes sense to blog about company updates, new employee hires and important news, but your blog can’t only be about your company.
The most successful company blogs provide helpful, educational and/or entertaining content that appeals to the ideal customer. The blog post you’re reading right now is an excellent example. Get Connected On Social Media
Customers are increasingly depending on social media to decide whether or not a product or service is trustworthy. If your company does not have a Facebook Page, it may appear as though you’re unestablished.
You don’t have to invest hours each week updating every social media account under the sun. At the bare minimum, you should have a Facebook Page and a LinkedIn Company Page, both of which should contain URLs to your website, and can be updated with links to blog posts as you publish them.
Creating content takes time and resources. You can save time and generate more engagement on your social media accounts by sharing other people’s content. Retweeting interesting, relevant content can populate your feed while getting the original tweeter’s attention. You can post articles, videos, even memes, if your audience would appreciate them, on your Facebook Page.
Your social media accounts are also a great way to reach out to influencers. If you’d like to get featured by a journalist or blogger, being visible on social media, even tagging influencers, is a great way to get their attention, especially when most people are flooded with emails.
