Highland Park, NJ, 10/17/2017 – The Mayor of Highland Park and officials from CAM Hospitality gathered yesterday for the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at The Blue Horse Restaurant, a new American eatery and bar located at 247 Raritan Avenue in Highland Park, NJ. Highland Park’s Mayor Gayle Brill Mittler and owners Joe Amore, Jeff McNamara, and Dan Caputo cut the ribbon at 4:45pm in front of the newly renovated facility to kick off the Grand Opening Weekend. Local business owners, community members, people of the press, and hungry customers all dropped by for this special event.
“I am delighted to welcome the Blue Horse Restaurant to Highland Park”, said Mayor Gayle Brill Mittler. “The folks at Blue Horse have found the perfect blend of a neighborhood atmosphere and varied culinary treats to delight every palette. We wish them much success here in town.”
“We are pleased to be here in Highland Park in the heart of the downtown and do our part to make Main Street a destination for locals and visitors to the Borough,” said Joe Amore a partner at the restaurant’s parent company, CAM Hospitality. CAM Hospitality also owns and operates the Skylark Diner and Pines Manor, both in Edison.
The Blue Horse Restaurant opened for dinner following the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting. Additionally, event attendees stayed to hangout, enjoy complimentary appetizers, sit down for dinner, and to have fun at the bar. The event kicked off a weekend full of Blue Horse specials, live music, as well as options for dinner and lunch. Menus can be found at Bluehorserestaurant.com.
Following this event, Thursday, October 18th is Community Night. Blue Horse Restaurant owners and staff welcome members of the surrounding community to try the restaurant—whether it be for the first time or as returning customers. The Thursday Community Night Drink Deal will run all night, offering $5 glasses and $15 pitchers of Pumpkin Pie Sangria. Sip seasonal sangria and enjoy classic rock tunes by Joshua Van Ness starting at 6pm.
At 6pm on Friday, October 19th pianist, Judy Palma will go on for a solo performance. While the John Bianculli Trio will slap bass and drums at 7:30pm on Saturday, October 20th. This weekend will also begin Blue Horse’s Lunchtime hours. From the Blue Horse House Burger and Roast Brisket sandwiches, to Portabella and Buffalo Chicken Wraps, the Lunch Menu features favorites that Blue Horse’s chef knows customers will love. Lunch hours will begin at 11:30am every Saturday & Sunday.
Lunch will continue on Sunday with NFL football games all afternoon and into the evening. Guests grab a $2 pint of Bud Lite all weekend long while eating and watching the games. As these events unfold, the Blue Horse team will be working hard to ensure delicious food, intriguing deals, and an amazing customer-centric atmosphere. Patrons bring your appetites, as our chef and servers will be dishing out favorites like Vegan Chili, Guinness Braised Short Ribs, Flank Steak, and much more.

Chef and partner, Jeff McNamara designed a menu using scratch-made ingredients and locally sourced provisions where possible. He is particularly proud of his partnership with Von Thun Farms located in South Brunswick. He and Bob Von Thun have developed a great working relationship that ensures fresh, seasonal vegetables come directly from the farm. The design of the menu offers a wide range of selections ensuring that anyone who visits can find something pleasing for their palate. Gluten Free offerings and a strict code of conduct to deal with patron’s food allergies will confirm that anyone can eat with comfort at The Blue Horse.
In addition to great entrees, a great selection of fresh burgers and sandwiches are also offered for lunch, dinner, and for late night eats. The restaurant’s signature burger is The Blue Horse Burger which boasts fresh ground beef, caramelized onion bacon jam, and melted Blue Cheese on a freshly baked potato roll. Additionally, the desserts menu features freshly baked chocolate and carrot cakes and the Budino, which is butterscotch pudding topped with warm dark caramel sauce and chocolate biscotti crumble.
