Facilitate a Smooth Transition while Reopening
Happy Summer 2020. It’s been a bumpy road, but we are finally starting to go back to the office, beginning to support local establishments, eyeing up tourism opportunities, and eating at local restaurants. As we begin this transition, there is a critical step that needs to happen: Communication.
Our normal routine was flipped on its head and as a result some “standard” practices may change as we push forward. In large part, customers will expect a variation of their past dining experiences…
As NJ Restaurants, Bars, Hotels, and others in the Hospitality Industry begin to reopen, owners must consider efficient communication tools to create better experiences.
20 Lemons has a “Top Five” when it comes to tips and tricks that streamline communication:
- Use plenty of signage.
- Ex: Where they should walk, how to order food, how to make payment, etc.
- Use the NJRHA as a resource when developing guidelines!
- Use video and photos to showcase what your new space will look like.
- Make sure menus are updated online. It is important that people be able to review before they come to dine.
- Give customers an incentive to come back—or to use take out. Restaurant owners or managers can send incentives via email, or by simply handing out coupons.
- Use social media to drip information.
- Ex: New opening dates, and procedures for dining, etc.
20 Lemons has been working with restaurants to keep them viable during COVID. Owners and managers who are looking for help with reopening and messaging, please contact us! We look forward to getting you back up and running for your local community!
