Princeton council members Dwaine Williamson, Leticia Fraga, Tony Kanterakis, Timothy Quinn, and Mayor Liz Lempert cut the opening ribbon for Small Bites employees and event goers.

Princeton, NJ, 10/5/2019 Tony Kanterakis, owner of Local Greek, has officially opened Small Bites, a new takeout restaurant located at 20 Nassau Street in Princeton. The ribbon cutting event was held on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 at 11:30AM. Princeton’s Mayor Lempert, restaurant owners, and members of the local town’s council cut the ceremonial ribbon while event-goers enjoyed a free sampling of the delicious menu offerings.

“It was a really nice turnout,” said Small Bites owner, Tony Kanterakis. “From people walking by, to family, friends, council people, and our reoccurring customers–we got a ton of support.”

Small Bites by Local Greek serves authentic Greek cuisine. Their menu mimics the dishes that Local Greek perfected and offers them in ways that suits customers who want quick meals, on the go. The new location caters to residents traveling to and from work, visitors walking around town, and students as they run to and from class.

“We’re going for a modern twist on Local Greek,” said Kanterakis. Local Greek is more traditional, sit-down. Small Bites is quick, casual, has a modern feel, and just really quality food for a good price.”

While Local Greek is well-known for sit-down, BYOB and entrees, Small Bites is taking a different approach. They specialize in sweet and savory homemade pastry items like Baklava or Meat Kourou (Greek style empanadas). Additionally, Small Bites allows customers to “pick their stick” in order to customize a Greek kabab of their dreams.

Small Bites is also home to high caliber sweets with morning coffee or after lunch and dinner. Greek-style donuts, Loukoumades, and ice cream from Small Bites are some of the best that Princeton has to offer—giving residents a new, go-to spot to satisfy their sweet tooth.

This location is a must visit if you find yourself walking through downtown Princeton. Small Bites’ head chef comes from Greece, bringing some of the latest trends as well as the most authentic dishes. Be sure to try a fresh-made Greek donut—sweet and dense bread, smothered in sesame seeds. Grab a Greek-style sandwich with eggs and Greek sausage to start your day or take prepackaged Pastitsio (Greek lasagna) for lunch or dinner to go. All menu options are meant to be easily transported for a busy schedule or simply eaten at the new, downtown location.

Sweet and savory homemade style pastries and desserts are being made fresh daily in the restaurant’s bakery, best paired with a frothy cup of Portioli style espresso imported from Milan. Small Bites also carries imported goods including Greek chocolates, tea, and snacks.

The restaurant is currently hiring line cooks, waitstaff and bakery counter attendants. Those interested in employment can apply at Smallbitesbylocalgreek.com/employment/
